This is SprueSentry strategy commentary, not official rules. The detachment rule below is confirmed against the free Necrons Faction Pack, which reprinted or amended it, and was re-verified on 27 August 2026 against v1.2 of that pack, the version made legal for matched play by the 26 August 2026 balance update. The stratagem and enhancement lists come from the 10th-edition codex and are cross-checked across two independent community rules mirrors. The Detachment Point cost and enhancement points here were checked against Munitorum Field Manual v1.3 (26 August 2026) and match it, but they move with dataslates, so confirm them in the Warhammer 40,000 app before a game.
Destroyer Cult and Flayed Ones units re-roll Charge rolls, and add 1 to the roll if a target is Below Half-strength. The Faction Pack added a second clause: Destroyer Cult ranged attacks against the closest eligible target improve their Armour Penetration by 1.
1CP. +1 to Hit against enemies below Starting Strength, and +1 to Wound as well against targets below half strength.
1CP. Attacks against a targeted Destroyer Cult or Flayed Ones unit take -1 to Hit.
1CP. Pile-in and Consolidation moves for the unit extend to 6" instead of 3".
1CP. A unit that just destroyed an enemy, or dropped one below half strength, activates its Reanimation Protocols.
1CP. When an engaged enemy Falls Back, roll a D6 for mortal wounds and then make a Normal move toward it.
1CP. After an enemy shoots an unengaged Destroyer Cult or Flayed Ones unit, that unit makes a surge move of up to D6".
Critical Wounds from the bearer's unit improve that attack's Armour Penetration by 1.
Destroyer Cult model only. Enemy units in Engagement Range of the bearer take a Battle-shock test at the start of the Fight phase.
Destroyer Cult model only. An enemy trying to Fall Back from the bearer's unit rolls a D6; on a 3+ it cannot Fall Back and must Remain Stationary.
A 4+ fight-on-death save for models in the bearer's unit that had not yet fought.

Annihilation Legion is an aggressive Necrons Destroyer Cult detachment: a 2-Detachment-Point package built around charging melee Destroyers with a bolt-on shooting buff. It reflects Warhammer 40,000 11th edition (Necrons Faction Pack v1.2, legal for matched play from 26 August 2026), which buffed it.

Your Destroyer Cult and Flayed Ones units can re-roll Charge rolls, and add 1 to the charge roll if any target is below half-strength — so your melee units reliably reach the enemy and hit even harder as the game grinds on. The June 2026 pack added a shooting buff: Destroyer Cult ranged attacks against the closest eligible target get +1 Armour Penetration, giving your Lokhust Destroyers real punch. It's a melee detachment with a genuine gunnery edge now.

Take it when you want an aggressive, in-your-face Destroyer Cult army that also brings punchy Destroyer shooting, and you enjoy a forward-deployed, charge-heavy list that grinds weakened targets. Be aware many 2026 reviews rate it the weakest current Necron Destroyer detachment, outclassed by Cursed Legion — so pick it for theme or a dedicated Destroyer collection rather than pure optimisation. At 2 DP it leaves 1 DP for a support.
Sample gameplan: deploy Skorpekh, Ophydian and Flayed Ones aggressively. Soften targets with Lokhust shooting to cash in the +1 AP, then charge with re-rolls (and +1 once a target drops below half). Use Pitiless Hunters to spread the lock, Soulless Reaper and Blood-fuelled Cruelty to punish Fall Back, and Murderous Reanimation to heal after kills — snowballing as enemies drop below strength.
2 DP, leaving 1 DP at a 2,000-point game for a support detachment like Skyshroud Spearhead or Hand of the Dynasty.
