How to paint Roboute Guilliman
Guilliman is blue armour, gold trim, and a flaming sword. Sub-assemble the backpack and head. Match Ultramarines Contrast on the plates, then spend time on gold and the Emperor's Sword. Unofficial fan recipe.

Grey Seer (zenithal over Chaos Black works well)
Step
Prep and sub-assemblies
Keep the backpack, head, and base separate if you can. Gold trim is easier before the cape closes gaps. Fill mould lines on the greaves and pauldron rims.
- +Prime Grey Seer for Contrast blue. Spot-black deep recesses if you want richer shadows.
Step
Blue armour
Flood Ultramarines Blue or Macragge Blue over Grey Seer. Recess shade Drakenhof Nightshade or Nuln Oil in the deepest joints. Edge Calgar Blue, then a thin Fenrisian Grey on the sharpest plates. Keep edges clean. Guilliman reads as a parade Primarch, not a muddy trench fighter.
Step
Gold trim and metals
Base Retributor Armour on trim and laurels. Shade Agrax Earthshade. Layer Liberator Gold, edge Stormhost Silver on the highest points. Joint metals: Leadbelcher, Nuln Oil, Ironbreaker.
Step
Face, cloak, and sword
Face: Rakarth Flesh or Guilliman Flesh over Wraithbone, shade Reikland Fleshshade, highlight Pallid Wych Flesh. Cloak: Screamer Pink or Mephiston Red with Carroburg Crimson in folds. Sword flame: Averland Sunset into Troll Slayer Orange into Yriel Yellow tips. Keep the hottest colour at the tip.
