Fervent Ritualists offsets the Daughters' fragility by returning slain models to units that are contesting objectives, with more coming back to low-Health models than to elites. It is a resilience-through-numbers formation. Verify the exact return values in your battletome.

What the formation does

Return slain models to eligible units contesting objectives: up to D3 to units of low Health (roughly Health 2 or less per model) and up to 1 to tougher models. That regeneration helps you hold points that would otherwise be ground down.

Who it suits

Horde-focused players who want their cheap infantry to stick on objectives turn after turn, turning a glass-cannon army into an attritional one on the points that matter.

Key units

  • Witch Aelves and Sisters of Slaughter, who benefit most from multi-model returns
  • Melusai for a smaller but still useful trickle of returns
  • Buff platforms (Cauldrons, Hag Queens) to keep the objective units fighting

When to pick it

Pick it on objective-heavy, grindy missions and into armies that chip you down rather than delete units outright. Less useful against alpha-strike armies that remove whole units before you can regenerate.

Common questions

Do returns work anywhere on the board?

The benefit is tied to units contesting objectives, so position your regenerating units on points. Confirm the exact eligibility in your book.

How is this different from Coven Zealots?

Fervent Ritualists ties returns to contesting objectives and scales by model Health, while Coven Zealots returns a flat D3 to aelf infantry units. Compare both in your battletome to see which fits your list.
