Aelementor Guardians is the monster-focused durability formation for AoS 4th edition Lumineth. It rewards lists built around big aelemental spirits by turning them into protective anchors. The reported "Ancient Spirits" damage-reduction aura should be confirmed against your current battletome for exact range and wording.

What the formation does

Each hero phase you nominate a Lumineth monster, which projects an aura that reduces incoming damage (reported as ignoring the first point of damage) to nearby friendly units. Across a clustered army that is a significant efficiency boost to durability.

Who it suits

Players who like durable, monster-led armies and want a resilient midfield anchor. It suits lists with one or more Spirits of the Mountain/Wind and infantry that benefit from staying close to the aura.

Key units

  • Alarith Spirit of the Mountain (Avalenor) as the central anchor
  • Sevireth / Hurakan spirits as mobile aura carriers
  • Alarith Stoneguard as a durable block that loves damage reduction
  • Vanari Auralan Wardens to hold the line inside the protective bubble

When to pick it

Choose it when your list is built around aelemental monsters and you want to grind durably on objectives. It is less suited to spread-out shooting lists or fragile fast lists that do not cluster around the monster. Verify the aura's exact range and effect before relying on it.

Common questions

Do I need multiple monsters to use it?

You need at least one Lumineth monster to project the aura, and a second gives flexibility if one is destroyed or out of position. Build around at least one reliable anchor and confirm the nomination rules in your book.

How does the damage reduction compare to Ward saves?

It is a separate, stacking layer of protection that applies before or alongside any Ward you already have, which is why it is efficient across a clustered army. Check current wording for exactly how it interacts with saves and Wards.
