Mawpath Menaces gives your on-foot ogors a threatening counter-charge, allowing Ogor infantry to charge during the opponent's turn. This is an unofficial summary; confirm the exact trigger and dice roll required in your current book.

What does the formation do?

It lets your Ogor infantry make a charge in your opponent's turn (on a required roll), meaning enemies who advance too close can be crashed into on their own turn, before they act. Combined with Trampling Charge, that counter-charge also deals mortal damage. Verify the exact roll needed and any timing conditions in your book.

Who does it suit?

Infantry-forward Gutbusters players who want to control space and deter the enemy from approaching. It rewards good positioning and threat projection rather than a specific unit purchase.

Key units

  • Ogor Gluttons - a big brick that becomes a scary counter-charge threat.
  • Ironguts - elite infantry that hit even harder on the counter-charge.
  • Maneaters - flexible infantry to threaten multiple angles.
  • Gnoblars - screens that shape where the enemy can advance into your counter-charge range.

When to pick it?

Pick it in an infantry-heavy list, or when you expect an aggressive melee opponent whose charges you want to pre-empt. It's less impactful if you plan to be the one charging every turn anyway, where you're already getting Trampling Charge value.

Common questions

Can any unit counter-charge, or only infantry?

As reported, the ability is for Ogor infantry specifically. Confirm which keywords qualify and the required charge roll in your current book, as these details can change with updates.

Does the counter-charge still deal Trampling Charge damage?

A completed charge should trigger Trampling Charge regardless of whose turn it is, so counter-charging can chip mortal damage before you even swing. Verify the interaction in your current rules.
