A Kruleboyz battle formation from the 4th-edition Orruk Warclans battletome that supports a shooting-led list. Ranges and the number of affected units can change with Battlescrolls - verify in your current battletome.

What the formation does

It grants extra shooting range (reported as +3") to a set number of your ranged units (reported as up to three Boltboyz or Beast-skewer units) on your turn. That extra reach meaningfully changes board spacing, letting you threaten targets before they can close.

Who it suits

Players building a Kruleboyz gunline who want to lead with Man-skewer Boltboyz and Killbows and control the game from range.

Key units

  • Man-skewer Boltboyz - the main payload the formation exists to enable.
  • Beast-skewer Killbow - monster-hunting ranged support.
  • Gutrippaz - a melee screen to keep shooters safe.
  • Killaboss / support heroes - to buff and protect the gunline.

When to pick it

Choose it when your list centres on shooting and you want to out-range the enemy. Skip it for a melee-and-tricks Kruleboyz build with little ranged firepower.

Common questions

How many units get the bonus?

A limited number (reported as up to three ranged units) gain the extra range, so build around a focused core of Boltboyz/Killbows rather than expecting the whole army to benefit. Confirm the exact count in your current battletome.

Is the extra range worth it?

For a shooting list, yes - even a few extra inches (reported as +3") lets you engage first and dictate spacing, which is central to how Kruleboyz control a game. It does little for a melee-focused build.
