Contrast paint is the fastest way to table a Combat Patrol. Pick one faction recipe, buy the box at a fair sealed floor, then batch the infantry. SprueSentry links those recipes to live prices so you do not overpay before you even open the sprues.
Why Combat Patrols first?
A Combat Patrol is a complete starter force with a known model count. That makes paint time predictable. About 6 to 10 hours with Contrast for most factions if you batch five models at a time.
Five factions to start
- +Necrons: metal plus one glow. See /40k/armies/necrons/paint
- +Space Marines (Ultramarines): Grey Seer and blue Contrast. See /40k/armies/space-marines/paint
- +Orks: messy green skin. See /40k/armies/orks/paint
- +Tyranids: carapace and skin Contrast. See /40k/armies/tyranids/paint
- +Death Guard: green armour and weathering. See /40k/armies/death-guard/paint
Buy fair, then paint
- 1Open the Combat Patrol box page and note the sealed all-in floor.
- 2Set a watch under the middle of that band.
- 3When you buy, open the matching /40k/boxes/[slug]/paint page.
- 4Follow the faction paint hub for batch order and expand kits.
Are these official Games Workshop schemes?
No. Unofficial fan recipes. Citadel paint and kit names identify products for sale. SprueSentry is not affiliated with Games Workshop.
Where is the full paint index?
Start at /40k/paint. Every faction hub links live kit floors and a start collecting path.
Buy at a fair floor. Paint the box you bought. Expand with the next kits on the army hub.
