Ogor Mawtribes Army Set: price, contents & release date
The Ogor Mawtribes Army Set is reported at $255 / £160 and hits pre-order on 18 July 2026. Here's what's actually in it — and why the '38% off' figure everyone is quoting is made up.

Games Workshop has revealed the Ogor Mawtribes Army Set, the launch box for a full Ogor range refresh, and it goes to pre-order on Saturday 18 July 2026. It's 16 brand-new miniatures plus a battletome with a box-exclusive cover.
Two things are worth getting straight before you spend money, because most coverage is getting them wrong:
1. The prices doing the rounds are not official yet. GW doesn't publish prices until the pre-order actually opens. 2. The "38% discount" figure being quoted everywhere is an estimate someone invented. There is no real savings number for this box — and we'll explain exactly why.
If you're weighing up the army itself, our how to play Ogor Mawtribes guide covers the faction's playstyle and all six battle formations.
Ogor Mawtribes Army Set price (reported)
These are the figures circulating from community outlets ahead of the pre-order. They are not confirmed by Games Workshop — GW only publishes prices when the pre-order goes live.
| Region | Reported price | Confidence |
|---|---|---|
| USA | $255 USD | Best-corroborated (multiple outlets + trade press) |
| UK | £160 GBP | Single-source |
| Europe | €206 EUR | Single-source |
| Canada | $310 CAD | Single-source |
| Australia | Not printing one | Sources conflict (A$435 vs A$395) |
On the Australian figure: the same outlet has published both A$435 and A$395 for this box. Rather than pick one and pretend, we're leaving it out until GW's store settles it. Australia and New Zealand also have a delayed release for this set (see below), so AU buyers have a bit more time regardless.
We'll update this page with the confirmed prices the moment the pre-order opens.
Pre-order and release dates
- Pre-orders open: Saturday 18 July 2026
- Release / ships: Saturday 1 August 2026
- Australia & New Zealand: delayed — this is confirmed in Games Workshop's own preview, and it's the single most under-reported fact about this release. If you're in AU/NZ, the 18 July / 1 August dates do not apply to you; watch GW's local store for your date.
Army Sets for a new battletome wave typically see strong first-day demand, so if you want it at retail on day one, be ready when pre-orders open.
What's in the Ogor Mawtribes Army Set?
16 miniatures, and every single one is a new sculpt — this is a genuine range refresh, not a repackage of old kits:
| Unit | Count | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Ogor Tyrant | 1 | New resculpt of the army's classic warlord |
| Ogor Gluttons | 10 | New resculpt; build options include clubs, ironfists and swords |
| Ironguts | 3 | New resculpt — the elite heavy infantry |
| Maulbeast Cavalry | 2 | New kit and a new unit type; dual-builds as crossbow-armed Maulbeast Raiders |
Plus:
- Battletome: Ogor Mawtribes with a cover exclusive to this box (the rules themselves are not exclusive — the battletome is also sold separately)
- 52 warscroll cards
The Maulbeast Cavalry is the headline. Ogors have ridden the same monstrous cavalry for years, so a brand-new mounted kit — with a dual-build ranged option — is the most interesting thing in the box.
A correction worth making: one site has reported that the box contains Leadbelchers. It does not. GW's own preview lists Maulbeast Cavalry, and no Leadbelchers are included.
Is it good value? The honest answer
You'll see a "$413 of models for $255 — 38% off!" claim attached to this box all over the internet this week. Do not trust it.
Here's the problem: every kit in this box is a brand-new sculpt that has never been sold separately. Not one of them has a published price. The "$413" total was produced by guessing what each kit will cost, based on what similar kits cost — the outlet that published it even labels its own column "Estimated MSRP." Other sites then repeated the number without the word "estimated," and search engines are now serving it as fact.
So the truthful position is:
- A real value comparison is impossible right now. There is no baseline to compare against, because GW hasn't priced the individual kits.
- What we can say concretely: you get 16 new-sculpt miniatures, a battletome and 52 warscroll cards for a reported $255.
- Army Sets have historically been priced below the sum of their parts, so it will probably represent a saving. But "probably a saving" is not "38% off," and you deserve the difference.
We'll run the real math on this page as soon as GW announces standalone kit prices (likely when the individual kits hit pre-order later in this wave).
What's NOT in the box
"Army Set" implies completeness, and newer buyers get caught out here. This box is core units only — the wave's characters are separate releases:
- Morga the Mighty — Overtyrant
- Redd the Maw — High Slaughtermaster centrepiece
- Grell Firefist — character with a Blastbelch cannon
- Butcher — the support caster
- Cleavers — elite infantry (dual-builds as Gutseers)
- Ogor Hunters with Sabrefangs — ranged/ambush unit
If your Ogor plans revolve around Redd the Maw or a Butcher, budget for those on top — the Army Set won't cover them.
Also worth noting: nobody has said this is a limited run. Army Sets often are one-shot printings, but GW has not stated that here, and the only genuinely box-exclusive thing is the battletome's cover art. Don't let anyone rush you with invented scarcity.
Should you buy it?
Buy it if: you want to start or rebuild an Ogor Mawtribes army. It's the cheapest route to a core of the new-sculpt range in one purchase, and it comes with the rules you need. Sixteen big models is a very manageable painting project — Ogors are large, characterful and forgiving to paint, which makes them a genuinely good army for a newer hobbyist.
Think twice if: you already own a modern Ogor force (you may be buying resculpts of units you have), or the models you actually want are the named characters, which aren't in here.
When it goes live, we'll track the Army Set's real-world price across retailers on SprueSentry — including sealed secondhand copies, which often undercut retail once the initial rush passes. In the meantime, browse Age of Sigmar boxes or read up on how Ogor Mawtribes actually play before you commit.
Common questions
How much is the Ogor Mawtribes Army Set?
It is reported at $255 USD / £160 GBP / €206 EUR / $310 CAD, but these are community-reported figures, not official — Games Workshop does not publish prices until pre-orders open (18 July 2026). The US price is the best-corroborated. The Australian price is disputed, with the same outlet publishing both A$435 and A$395.
When can I pre-order the Ogor Mawtribes Army Set?
Pre-orders open Saturday 18 July 2026, with release on Saturday 1 August 2026. Australia and New Zealand have an officially-confirmed delayed release, so those dates do not apply there.
What's in the Ogor Mawtribes Army Set?
16 miniatures — 1 Ogor Tyrant, 10 Ogor Gluttons, 3 Ironguts and 2 Maulbeast Cavalry (which dual-build as Maulbeast Raiders) — plus Battletome: Ogor Mawtribes with a box-exclusive cover and 52 warscroll cards. Every miniature is a new sculpt. It does not contain Leadbelchers, despite some reports.
Is the Ogor Mawtribes Army Set good value?
Nobody can honestly say yet. The '38% off' and '$413 of models' figures circulating are built on estimated kit prices — every kit in the box is a new sculpt that has never been sold separately, so no real baseline exists. Army Sets are usually priced below the sum of their parts, but the specific savings numbers being quoted are guesses, not facts.
Is the Ogor Mawtribes Army Set a limited edition?
Games Workshop has not said it is a limited run. The only box-exclusive element confirmed is the battletome's cover art — the rules inside are also sold separately. Treat 'it'll sell out forever' claims with scepticism.
Does the Army Set include Morga the Mighty or Redd the Maw?
No. The Army Set is core units only. Morga the Mighty, Redd the Maw, Grell Firefist, the Butcher, Cleavers and Ogor Hunters are all separate releases in the same wave, so budget for them on top if you want them.
