Questoris Companions: The 11th-Edition Imperial Knights Stacking Oaths Detachment

Mirror-sourced. At the start of your turn, if your current Oath is fulfilled, determine an additional Oath, with the exception that you cannot select a Deed or Quality you have already selected. If you are rolling and get one you have taken, select an untaken one instead. If every Deed and every Quality has been used, no further Oath is determined.

Qualities from Oaths you have fulfilled continue to apply, so they stack across the battle. When the Deed for an additional Oath is completed you gain 1CP, rather than the 2CP or 3CP the first Oath pays.

The second rule, Valour's Reward, is what actually makes the detachment cohere. Its enhancements can become expended, cannot be used while expended, and each time you fulfil an Oath, every expended Enhancement stops being expended.

Put the two together and the detachment is a loop rather than a buff. Fulfil an Oath, recharge your one-shot enhancements, take a new Oath, stack a second Quality, fulfil it, recharge again. There are three Deeds and three Qualities in Code Chivalric, so the ceiling is three Oaths and three stacked Qualities in one battle, with diminishing Command Point returns after the first.

Herald of Triumph (15 points). IMPERIAL KNIGHTS model only. When the bearer ends a Charge move it can expend this Enhancement, and each enemy unit within Engagement Range must take a Battle-shock test with 1 subtracted.

Pennant of Silvered Fury (15 points). IMPERIAL KNIGHTS model only. When the bearer is selected to fight it can expend this Enhancement, and until the end of the phase its melee weapons have [SUSTAINED HITS 2].

Crushing Condemnation (10 points). IMPERIAL KNIGHTS model only. After the bearer fights, if one or more enemy units were destroyed by those attacks, it can expend this Enhancement to select an enemy unit within 12 inches and visible that is not within Engagement Range of any of your units, then roll six D6 and inflict 1 mortal wound for each 4 or more. Three mortal wounds on average, at range, for 10 points, gated on having just killed something.

Wyrmslayer Divination (10 points). IMPERIAL KNIGHTS model only. In your Shooting phase, when the bearer is selected to shoot it can expend this Enhancement, and until the end of the phase it can re-roll Hit rolls against units that can FLY. The narrowest of the four and a clear answer to a specific problem.

Enhancement point values come from the official Munitorum Field Manual v1.3, are reprinted only as a planning aid, and are dataslate-volatile. None carries a change marker in this pass.

The mirror lists six stratagems under this detachment, and unusually all six are Epic Deed stratagems, which is consistent with a detachment built around fulfilling and refreshing Oaths.

We are not reproducing their text. The pack does not print this detachment at all, so there is no first-party version to check the mirror against, and the mirror lags this faction on both stamps. Read the six cards in the Warhammer 40,000 app.

Questoris Companions costs 3 Detachment Points, which fills a Strike Force budget on its own, so there is nothing to pair it with and it cannot be taken at Incursion at all.

The Imperial Knights are the first faction in this series with two 3 DP detachments. The other is Freeblade Company, which is printed in full in the pack. If you are choosing between them and evidence quality matters to you, that difference is worth weighing: one of the two rests on documents you can download from Games Workshop today, and the other does not.
