The structural change is Detachment Points. In 10th edition you chose one detachment; in 11th you get a DP budget of roughly 2 DP at 1,000 points and 3 DP at 2,000 points, and spend it on detachments that each cost 1 to 3 DP, so most factions can now combine detachments.
How to play the Advanced Acquisition Cadre in 11th edition: the 1-DP detachment that lets Pathfinders and Stealth suits shoot without being seen, what the Unmasking Suite actually does, and why it is the safest detachment in the faction.
How to play the Auxiliary Cadre in 11th edition: the 1-DP detachment that turns Kroot and Vespid into a Lethal Hits beacon, plus the Kroot list it can never be part of and why.
How to play the Experimental Prototype Cadre in 11th edition: the 1-DP detachment that adds 6 inches of range to your Commanders, its single stratagem, and the suit pairing that is illegal twice over.
How to play Kauyon in 11th edition: what Patient Hunter actually grants from the third battle round, why there are no rerolls in it, and which Detachment Point to spend on surviving to the payoff.
How to play the Kroot Hunting Pack in 11th edition: both detachment rules including the invulnerable saves nobody mentions, the enhancement people credit to it by mistake, and the 3-DP Kroot list that is illegal.
How to play Mont'ka in 11th edition: which half of Killing Blow is army-wide and which is conditional, why 3 DP means it runs alone, and how to keep scoring while you push.
How to play the Retaliation Cadre in 11th edition: the exact Strength and AP bands after the pack tightened one of them, the strike-and-fade cycle, and why 3 DP means no Experimental Prototype Cadre.
The 2+1 DP T'au list we would build with no other information: why a detachment that does nothing for two battle rounds should spend its spare point on staying hidden rather than on hitting harder.
Both look designed for each other, both are what a T'au collector reaches for first, and neither is a legal army. Here is exactly why, what the sources say, and what to build instead.
Advanced Acquisition Cadre plus Auxiliary Cadre plus Experimental Prototype Cadre is exactly 3 DP and entirely legal. What you get, what you give up, and who should build it.
