You need at least two on the table for the ward to exist at all, and each one you add makes the cluster easier to maintain.

Breaker Tribe is the durability battle formation for Sons of Behemat in Age of Sigmar 4th edition, and the one that most constrains how you move.

The formation ability is Besieging Bulk, and it is passive. Friendly Mega-Gargants have a 6+ ward while they are within the combat range of any other friendly Mega-Gargant.
A ward on a model with a very large Health pool is worth far more than the same ward on infantry, because it applies to every point of damage that model soaks all game, mortal damage included.
The condition is within the combat range of another friendly Mega-Gargant, which is close. Your giants have to move as a block, and that fights against two other things Sons of Behemat want to do.
First, objectives. A faction with this few models normally wins by spreading its gargants across the board, and Breaker Tribe pays you for not doing that.
Second, Timberrrrr!. When one of your gargants dies, the mortal damage lands near the body and hits friendly units too. A tightly packed Mega-Gargant cluster is exactly the formation Timberrrrr! punishes hardest.
So this is not simply a free ward. It is a ward you buy with board coverage and with some friendly-fire risk.
Players running three or more Mega-Gargants into a shooting or mortal-damage heavy meta, where surviving to reach combat is the actual problem and a ward is the only answer this faction has.
Pick Breaker Tribe when you expect to be shot off the table before you arrive, and when the mission lets you win from a concentrated position. If the battlepack needs you on three objectives at once, this formation will be switched off for most of the game.
It is passive: friendly Mega-Gargants have a 6+ ward while they are within the combat range of any other friendly Mega-Gargant.
No. The ward applies to Mega-Gargants only. The Scourge of Aqshy Always on Guard Cracked Heel is the enhancement that gives a Mancrusher a ward for staying near a Mega-Gargant.
Yes. Timberrrrr! inflicts mortal damage near a slain gargant and it can hit friendly units, so a tight Mega-Gargant block is the formation that suffers most when one of them falls.
