Take Forgefather's Seekers when you play Salamanders and own Vulkan He'stan and several Infernus Squads. That is a narrower recommendation than most detachments get, but it is the honest one: the shared half of the rule is identical to Firestorm Assault Force, which any Chapter can take at the same 2 DP, so the reason to be here is the He'stan clause and the Salamanders-specific stratagem and enhancement list. Weigh that a little more carefully after the 26 August 2026 update, which raised Vulkan He'stan's points cost: the model the whole pitch rests on now costs more, while the Firestorm alternative it is measured against did not change.
What that list actually gives you over Firestorm is Blazing Earth and Immolator. Blazing Earth is a defensive charge-denial tool Firestorm does not have, which matters because a flamer army wants to hold its ground; Immolator is a 10-point enhancement that adds attacks to every Torrent weapon in a squad. Firestorm in exchange has the transport-heavy stratagems and War-tempered Artifice's melee spike.
At 2 DP it leaves 1 DP spare at 2,000 points.
Sample gameplan: deliver two Infernus Squads by Rhino toward the midfield with He'stan on the table. Use Seeker's Companions to Advance onto a secondary, perform the Action, and still fire your flamers. When the enemy closes, spend Immolation Protocols on your biggest flamer block for Devastating Wounds, and Crucible of Battle on whatever is within 6". Hold Blazing Earth for the turn a melee unit tries to charge your gunline, and use Wrathful Inferno to disengage and keep shooting if something gets in anyway.
