Warrior Kinband is the aggressive infantry battle formation for Fyreslayers in Age of Sigmar 4th edition, and the most straightforward of the four.
SprueSentry strategy commentary, not official rules. The formation is summarised from the free Faction Pack: Fyreslayers, page-stamped August 2026, so it is first-party sourced. Check the current Battle Profiles before a game.
The formation ability is Berserk Kindred, and it is passive. Add 1 to wound rolls for combat attacks made by friendly Fyreslayers Infantry units that charged in the same turn.
A wound-roll bonus is worth more to Fyreslayers than a hit-roll bonus would be, because their infantry already put out a lot of attacks and the wound roll is where those attacks usually fail. On a full Vulkite block it is a large swing in one step.
Infantry only. Magmadroths get nothing from this formation, including the Magmadroth's own Companion weapons. If half your points are beasts, half your army is playing without a formation.
Charged in the same turn. The bonus is not a general combat buff: a unit already locked in combat from a previous turn does not have it. That makes Rune of Relentless Zeal, the run-and-charge Ur-gold Rune, the natural partner, and it makes retreating and re-charging a real tactic rather than a waste of a turn.
Players running a Vulkite and Hearthguard heavy list who want the simplest possible payoff for doing what Fyreslayers do anyway. It has no positional requirement and no once-per-turn limit, so it works in every mission and needs no setup.
Pick Warrior Kinband when your list is infantry-forward and you expect to be charging most turns. Take Forge Brethren instead if the mission pushes you onto your own objectives, Scales of Vulcatrix if the army is built on Magmadroths, and Lords of the Lodge if you plan to win on control scores rather than kills.
It is passive: friendly Fyreslayers Infantry units that charged in the same turn add 1 to their wound rolls for combat attacks.
No. The bonus applies to Fyreslayers Infantry units only, so a Magmadroth-led list gets nothing from it. Scales of Vulcatrix is the Magmadroth formation.
No. It applies to units that charged in the same turn, so a unit stuck in an ongoing combat loses it until it can charge again.
