Data-Psalm Conclave: The 11th-Edition AdMech Cult Mechanicus Detachment

At the start of the first battle round you select one Benediction to be active for Cult Mechanicus units from your army until the end of the battle:

• Panegyric Procession — each time a Cult Mechanicus model makes a ranged attack against a unit within half range, improve that attack's Armour Penetration by 1.
• Citation in Savagery — each time a Cult Mechanicus unit that made a Charge move this turn is selected to fight, add 1 to the Strength and Attacks characteristics of its melee weapons for the phase.

That is a genuine, once-per-battle commitment, and it should shape your list rather than your turn. A Kataphron and Corpuscarii gunline wants Panegyric Procession; a Fulgurite and Dragoon melee list wants Citation in Savagery. Trying to build for both usually means getting less out of either.

The keyword matters: Cult Mechanicus covers Belisarius Cawl, Thulia Ghuld, all four Tech-Priest datasheets, both Electro-Priest datasheets, both Kataphron datasheets and the Servitor Battleclade. It does not include Skitarii, Kastelan Robots or the Cybernetica Datasmith.

Six, all 1CP, and all restricted to Cult Mechanicus units.

• Luminescent Blessing (opponent's Shooting) — a targeted unit's Cult Mechanicus models gain a 4+ invulnerable save for the phase. The best defensive spend in the detachment.
• Chant of the Remorseless Fist (Fight) — a unit that has not fought adds 1 to its melee Wound rolls.
• Verse of Vengeance (Fight) — a targeted unit gets a fight-on-death save: models destroyed before the unit fights survive on a 4+ long enough to swing back.
• Incantation of the Iron Soul (any phase) — just after a mortal wound is allocated, that unit's Cult Mechanicus models gain Feel No Pain 4+ against mortal wounds for the phase.
• Tribute of Emphatic Veneration (start of Movement) — an enemy within 18\" takes a Battle-shock test, and on a failure it is -1 to Hit until your next Command phase.
• Litany of the Electromancer (Shooting) — roll a D6 per enemy unit within 6\" of your chosen unit, +1 if the nearest model is an Electro-Priest: on a 5+ that enemy takes D3 mortal wounds.

All four are Tech-Priest model only.

• Temporcopia — the bearer's unit has Fights First. On a Fulgurite brick running Citation in Savagery this is the whole plan in one enhancement.
• Data-blessed Autosermon — once per battle, at the start of your Command phase, the bearer's unit also gains the Benediction you did not choose until your next Command phase. The only way to have both, and only for one unit for one turn.
• Mantle of the Gnosticarch — each time an attack is allocated to the bearer, change that attack's Damage to 1. Character insurance against big-damage weapons.
• Mechanicus Locum — the cheapest: Leadership 6+, and once per battle it clears Battle-shock from a Cult Mechanicus unit within 12\".

• Fulgurite Electro-Priests — Cult Mechanicus melee that turns Citation in Savagery's +1 Strength and +1 Attacks into a real charge threat, especially with Temporcopia.
• Corpuscarii Electro-Priests — the shooting half of the same kit, and the unit that pushes Litany of the Electromancer's roll up by 1.
• Kataphron Breachers and Destroyers — Cult Mechanicus heavy weapons, so Panegyric Procession's +1 Armour Penetration at half range lands where it hurts most.
• Thulia Ghuld — a Cult Mechanicus Tech-Priest from the pack's new datasheets, and a strong Temporcopia or Mantle carrier.
• Tech-Priest Dominus or Enginseer — carries any of the four enhancements and keeps the priests moving.

Take it (2 DP) when your collection leans Cult Mechanicus rather than Skitarii: priests, Kataphrons and characters rather than Rangers and Sicarians. It is the only detachment that treats that half of the faction as the main event, and its defensive stratagem suite (a 4+ invulnerable, a fight-on-death save, Feel No Pain against mortals) makes an otherwise fragile force genuinely awkward to remove.

Two constraints to plan around. First, the Benediction is chosen once for the whole battle, so build for one of the two. Second, it carries the DATA-PSALM unique tag, which means it can never be paired with Luminen Auto-choir — the one other detachment that buffs Electro-Priests. If you were hoping to stack both, that door is closed by design.

At 2 DP it leaves 1 DP for a support: Lords of the Forge (every enhancement here is Tech-Priest only, and Lords keeps those Tech-Priests alive) or Cohort Acquisitus (a recon element the Cult half of the faction simply does not have).

Sample gameplan: decide your Benediction before deployment and build to it. For a shooting list, choose Panegyric Procession, push Kataphrons and Corpuscarii to half range, and spend Litany of the Electromancer on a crowded objective. For a melee list, choose Citation in Savagery, put Temporcopia on a Tech-Priest leading Fulgurites, charge, and use Chant of the Remorseless Fist on the swing. Either way, hold Luminescent Blessing for the first serious volley and Verse of Vengeance for the combat you expect to lose.
