Stealth Optimisation
Restated by Faction Pack v1.2: friendly Skitarii Infantry, Skitarii Mounted and Ironstrider Ballistarii units have Stealth. It is a broad but shallow rule, so the detachment's real value is in its redeploy and withdraw toolkit.

2CP. Two Skitarii units that have not attacked this phase improve their weapons' Armour Penetration by 1, but may only attack one nominated enemy unit.
1CP. A targeted Sicarian, Pteraxii or Sydonian unit gains Feel No Pain 5+ for the phase.
1CP. One Skitarii unit is eligible to declare a charge in a turn it Advanced.
1CP. One Sicarian, Pteraxii, Sydonian, Ironstrider Ballistarii or Skitarii Mounted unit adds 1 to Wound rolls against a target with no other enemy units within 6" of it.
1CP. A targeted Skitarii Infantry unit can only be shot at by attacking models within 18" for the rest of the phase.
1CP. Place up to two Sicarian units, or one Skitarii Infantry or Skitarii Mounted unit, into Strategic Reserves, provided each is more than 3" from all enemy units.
Skitarii Marshal model only. At the start of the battle round, both the Protector and Conqueror Imperatives become active for one friendly Skitarii unit within 12" until the next battle round.
Skitarii model only. After the bearer's unit shoots, if it is not in Engagement Range it can make a Normal move of up to 6", but is then not eligible to declare a charge.
Skitarii model only. The bearer and any unit it leads gain Infiltrators and Scouts 6".
Skitarii Marshal model only, and rewritten by the pack. After both players deploy, redeploy up to three Skitarii Infantry units; any of them may go into Strategic Reserves regardless of how many units are already there.
The only Sicarian datasheets, and the units three of the six stratagems name outright.

Sprue Sentry strategy commentary for 11th edition, not official rules. Games Workshop updates points and rules regularly; always confirm against the current official rules and latest update before a game.
Skitarii Hunter Cohort is the Adeptus Mechanicus stealth and repositioning detachment: a 2-Detachment-Point package built on Stealth, pre-game redeploys, and the ability to pull units off the board and bring them back somewhere better. It reflects Warhammer 40,000 11th edition (Adeptus Mechanicus Faction Pack v1.2, legal for matched play from 26 August 2026), which restated its rule and rewrote one enhancement.
This is SprueSentry strategy commentary, not official rules. The restated rule and the rewritten Veiled Hunter enhancement are confirmed against the pack's Rules Updates section, checked on 27 August 2026; the rest comes from the 10th-edition codex by way of community rules mirrors. DP and enhancement points come from the official Munitorum Field Manual.
The pack restates it as: friendly Skitarii Infantry, Skitarii Mounted and Ironstrider Ballistarii units have Stealth.
That is a wide net and a shallow effect. Stealth is a one-point defensive modifier, not a game-changer, and the Ironstrider Ballistarii inclusion is the unusual part: a Walker getting a rule written for infantry and cavalry.
Which means the honest read is that the detachment rule is not why you take this detachment. The value is in the toolkit around it: pre-game redeploys, mid-game withdrawals, and a stratagem suite that lets a fragile Skitarii force keep dictating where the fight happens. Treat Stealth as a small tax rebate and the stratagems as the actual product.
(Points come from the Munitorum Field Manual and move with updates; confirm in the app.)
Take it (2 DP) when you enjoy the positional version of AdMech: deploy late, redeploy after your opponent has committed, pick off isolated units, and refuse to leave your fragile Skitarii where they can be answered.
It is fair to say 11th edition was not kind to it. The edition's changes to charge consistency and to how stratagems stack blunted the lock-down archetype this detachment used to enable, and Stealth is a modest rule to hang a detachment on. Community assessment at the pack's release put it among the weaker AdMech options. That does not make it unplayable; it makes it a skill-expressive detachment that pays out for players who plan two turns ahead rather than one.
At 2 DP it leaves 1 DP for a support, and Lords of the Forge covers its most obvious hole, since nothing here protects a character.
Sample gameplan: take Veiled Hunter on a Marshal and Clandestine Infiltrator on a second Skitarii character, so you finish deployment with three units repositioned and one already up the board. Use Cantic Thrallnet each battle round to give your key unit both Imperatives. Shoot isolated targets with Isolate and Destroy, focus a hard target with Binharic Offence, protect the receiving unit with Shroud Protocols or Bionic Endurance, and finish the turn with Programmed Withdrawal to take a spent Sicarian unit off the board before it can be traded away.
2 DP, leaving 1 DP at a 2,000-point game for a support detachment. The value comes from the official Munitorum Field Manual; confirm in the Warhammer 40,000 app before a game.
Stealth Optimisation, restated by Faction Pack v1.2: friendly Skitarii Infantry, Skitarii Mounted and Ironstrider Ballistarii units have Stealth. It is deliberately broad but shallow, and the detachment's real value sits in its redeploy and withdraw stratagems.
Faction Pack v1.2 restated the Stealth Optimisation rule and rewrote the Veiled Hunter enhancement, which now redeploys up to three Skitarii Infantry units after deployment and lets any of them enter Strategic Reserves regardless of how many units are already there.
It is generally rated among the weaker Adeptus Mechanicus detachments for 11th edition. The edition's changes to charges and stratagem stacking blunted the lock-down archetype it enabled, and Stealth alone is a modest detachment rule. It rewards forward planning rather than raw output.
