Adepta Sororitas: Sanctified Orators Detachment Guide

Two effects:

• Enhancements selected from this detachment do NOT count towards the total number of enhancements in your army.
• Friendly ADEPTA SORORITAS CHARACTER units have +1 Ld.

The first bullet is the entire reason this detachment exists. Your army has a fixed enhancement allowance. This detachment's enhancement sits outside it. So for 1 Detachment Point you are buying one extra enhancement slot, in a faction whose enhancements are unusually strong.

That is a structural benefit rather than a combat one, which is why it reads as weak and plays as efficient. The +1 Ld on characters is a small bonus on top, and it is genuinely small: do not choose this detachment for it.

When it is worth a point: when your list already runs several characters and you have more enhancements you want than allowance to fit them. When it is not: when you own two characters and have already fitted everything you wanted.

Hagiomnifex Upgrade (25 pts). ADEPTA SORORITAS CHARACTER model only, excluding PENITENT units. Once per turn per unit, at the start of a phase, select one of five abilities:

The important structural detail is you choose at the start of a phase, once per turn. This is not a single effect you commit to at list-building; it is a menu your character re-picks from as the game changes. Turn one it might be movement, turn three it might be the defensive to-wound modifier, turn four it might be the automatic battle-shock success that keeps you scoring.

Sermon of Intolerance deserves its own note. A battle-shocked unit has Objective Control 0. An ability that makes battle-shock rolls automatically succeed is therefore a scoring tool, and it is the single best answer to battle-shock available in the faction.

Enhancement points are dataslate-volatile; confirm the 25 points in the app.

The detachment does nothing for non-character units, so the only question it asks is how many enhancement-worthy characters you own. A Canoness or Palatine is the usual Hagiomnifex carrier; a Ministorum Priest is often the most points-efficient body to put it on. Sister Dogmata stacks naturally with the +1 Ld theme, and Intranzia Fraye, one of the pack's three new datasheets on page 7, is the newest character option available.

One pack change worth knowing before you build: the Rules Updates moved Dialogus, Dogmata, Hospitaller and Imagifier from Leader to Support in their core abilities, which changes how you attach them.

At 1 DP this is the best spare-point detachment in the faction, and it goes with almost anything: [Army of Faith](/40k/armies/adepta-sororitas/detachments/army-of-faith) is the sharpest partner, since it carries four enhancements and several generate Miracle dice off character actions. [Bringers of Flame](/40k/armies/adepta-sororitas/detachments/bringers-of-flame) and [Champions of Faith](/40k/armies/adepta-sororitas/detachments/champions-of-faith) both work for the same reason.

One pairing needs care. With [Penitent Host](/40k/armies/adepta-sororitas/detachments/penitent-host), remember the Hagiomnifex excludes PENITENT units, and Penitent Host's own Catechism of Divine Penitence enhancement gives a Canoness, Palatine or Ministorum Priest the PENITENT keyword. Put both on the same model and one of them does nothing. Put them on different models and the pairing is clean.
