In 11th edition you spend a Detachment Points (DP) budget rather than picking one detachment. The budget scales with game size: roughly 2 DP at 1,000 points (Incursion) and 3 DP at 2,000 points (Strike Force). The Munitorum Field Manual points at the Warhammer 40,000 app for exact figures, and we do not quote a figure for Onslaught because no first-party document we read states one.
1 Detachment Point, DISRUPTION, and the narrowest rule in the faction: Scouts 6 inches for Sagitaurs, with every stratagem and both enhancements locked to the same datasheet.
2 Detachment Points, TAKE AND HOLD, and an aura that runs the direction people do not expect: every Votann transport hands [SUSTAINED HITS 1] to nearby infantry, whether or not they are inside it.
2 Detachment Points, PURGE THE FOE, and the narrowest 2 DP rule in the faction: Deep Strike and Battleline, for exactly one datasheet.
1 Detachment Point, RECONNAISSANCE, and a stratagem that lets one Hernkyn unit strip cover for your entire army. The recon package the Kin gunline is missing.
3 Detachment Points, PRIORITY ASSETS, and the whole budget. An army-wide wound re-roll that only pays if you shoot the closest thing, plus Armour Penetration for the Einhyr core.
2 Detachment Points, PRIORITY ASSETS, and the Brôkhyr firebase. The only Votann detachment whose rules text this site cannot check against a first-party document.
1 Detachment Point, PRIORITY ASSETS, and the faction's only printed Unique Tag. A cut-down Hearthband for a third of the budget, with a tag that costs you nothing.
2 Detachment Points plus 1 is exactly a Strike Force budget, neither carries a shared tag, and the Yield Point engine feeds the one Einhyr stratagem that spends them. Still the right answer, with two corrections.
2 Detachment Points, TAKE AND HOLD, and the only detachment that switches off half the army rule. The stance toggle is manual, and it costs 3 Yield Points every single time.
2 Detachment Points, PURGE THE FOE, and one sentence: gain 1 Yield Point every time an enemy unit is destroyed. The cleanest income engine in the faction.
2 Detachment Points, DISRUPTION, and a marking engine that charges you target flexibility. The payout arrives on the second application, not the first.
Armoured Trailblazers plus Farseekers plus Hearthguard Covenant is 3 DP, gives you three detachment rules and nine stratagems, and is legal despite one of them carrying a tag.
